On June 19th, the Duke and Duchess celebrated their one-month anniversary as they made their debut at the Royal Ascot- a five-day racing event that dates back to 1711. In recent years, it’s been recorded to be more than 300,000 people attend the fine event every year, but even with such an extensive guest list, this year’s most esteemed guest was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
The newlyweds first arrived in the highly anticipated carriage processionals that signified the start of the races. Sharing a carriage with Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, Harry and Meghan waved at adoring fans as they made their entrance.
The couples matched beautifully in their ensembles; the Duke wore a black morning dress with a lovely navy blue vest and black top hat while the Duchess opted for another timeless piece by her wedding dress designer, Givenchy. Meghan also wore perhaps her boldest head-piece yet: a fascinator by milliner, Philip Treacy.
Dressing for the Royal Ascot is notoriously tricky but Meghan didn’t seem to let any intimidation get the best of her. Her white Givenchy dress had a studious collar with an asymmetrical hemline with intricate lace details in the center. Her hat was a one-of-kind (the best ones always are) with a beautifully illusioned monochromatic design.
The Duchess’ outfit has received incredible amounts of attention as people around the world are obsessing over her Royal Ascot ensemble. In fact, her outfit is all anyone can seem to talk about!
I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to see a trend here: at every event, the Duchess has stolen the show with her ensemble. At every since appearance! I’m beginning to wonder if we’ve got another fashion icon on our hands in the Royal Family! Seriously, will she ever stop stealing the show?!
What do you think of the Duchess’ ensembles? I personally love her style and always look forward to seeing what she wears and luckily for me, this is just the beginning of her Royal journey!
