Oh baby, this is exciting news!
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married on Mary 19th, 2018, the world watched in captivated by the endearing couple. There was no secret about it: these two were what fairytale dreams were made of.
With all of the attention on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it wasn’t long before fans began speculating of when the couple would begin growing their family. During their famous engagement interview, Harry and Meghan were asked about having children of their own one day. Harry promptly responded with, “One step at a time.” Still, fans were eager about the possibility of their children.
Once the wedding came and went, attention immediately shifted towards a pregnancy announcement. While Harry and Meghan were staying busy with royal duties, fans anxiously awaited seeing the confirming tweet from Kensington Palace announcing that everyone’s favorite newlyweds were pregnant. Finally, on October 15th, 2018, everyone learned the truth.
In a post shared with an excited picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the words, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.” Within seconds, the announcement went viral within seconds as the adored newlyweds finally announced the big deal!
Immediately following the announcement, PEOPLE confirmed that the Duchess had already had her 12-week ultrasound. Judging from the timeline, it would appear as though Meghan and Harry would be welcoming their firstborn in April 2019. However, true royal watchers are thinking that Meghan is due much sooner than April.
The first clue to an earlier due date came during Harry and Meghan’s tour in Australia. During a visit, Meghan spilled the beans about her very private pregnancy; Missy Higgins, who met and spoke with Meghan Markle, took to social media where she shared about her experience meeting the Duchess.
On her Instagram, Missy revealed, “What an honor to meet the beautiful Duchess today! She was such a sweetheart. I said I felt sorry for her having to do all these meet-and-greets while 4 months pregnant! What a trooper. Prince Harry was gorgeous too, a real charmer. He squeezed Luna's legs and said 'who's this little cutie?' Looking forward to telling Luna she slept through it all one day."
Did you catch that?? She said, “having to do all these meet-and-greets while 4 months pregnant!” four months- not three!
The second clue came in December when Harry and Meghan were photographed leaving a Christmas Carol at St. Lukes church in South West London. Just as they left, paparazzi managed to snap some pictures of Meghan’s growing baby bump.
The Duchess was beautiful as ever but appeared to have “popped” as many would say. Her womb appeared to reveal that she was much further along than the original announcement from Kensington.
These clues are leading us to believe that the new baby will likely arrive in mid-March 2019 rather than April! Many are speculating that if Meghan is already five and a half months pregnant, then the baby will actually arrive before the first day of Spring which is March 20th. What do you think?!
