When the cooler weather finally comes around to stay a while, we start getting in the mood for the upcoming holiday season. Not only do we diligently count down the days until “the most wonderful time of the year” arrives, we have one long-awaited beverage on our mind: EGGNOG!
This ultra creamy, smooth, and delicious holiday drink is all anyone can think about. I mean, just imagining cuddling up under a warm, fuzzy blanket by a fireplace with a big glass of eggnog is more exciting than I can handle!
The oh-so-talented blogger, Sabine from Also The Crumbs Please, decided to take this Christmas favorite up a notch and create one of the most spectacular desserts to date. Her fun and festive spin on Eggnog Truffles will leave your mouth salivating and your tummy begging for more.
Their delicate, creamy center is chocked full of that good eggnog flavor. They will give you all the Christmas feels and look just as beautiful as they taste. Surprisingly enough, you only need minimal ingredients and a little bit of time to whip up this spectacular seasonal delight.

To make Eggnog Truffles, you’ll need:
1 c. butter
1 ½ c. white chocolate, melted
3.4 c. eggnog
3 tbsp. rum
2 vanilla beans (or 2 tsp. vanilla extract)
2 ⅓ c. white chocolate, melted
Whisk butter until softened (1-2 minutes). Add in melted white chocolate and mix until creamy. Add in eggnog and mix until just combined. Add in rum and vanilla - mix well. Chill mixture for fifteen minutes in the freezer until firm enough to scoop out.
Using an ice cream scoop, scoop out the mixture into balls and place on parchment-covered pan. Freeze for one hour.
Once hardened, remove from freezer and dip in melted chocolate. Place in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon before serving.
