In a highly-anticipated announcement from the mother-to-be herself, the world now knows the truth about the rumored baby bump that has been spotted in recent days. And we couldn't be happier to learn that Kate Middleton’s younger sister, Pippa and her husband of one year, James Matthews have officially confirmed that the couple is expecting their first child.
The first inklings of a coming baby were detected right about the time of the April 23rd birth of Prince William and Kate’s third child, Prince Louis but no one would confirm or deny Pippa's status at the time. While the Duchess of Cambridge was extremely excited for her sister, the decision was made to suppress the news until after all the big royal events had passed, including the wedding of Prince Harry and American Meghan Markle on May 19th.
Now that a decent time has passed since the royal nuptials, it seemed like at the perfect time to let the rest of the world in on the secret that we have suspected ever since the mother-to-be appeared at the French Open in May.
One look at Pippa in her stunning red Ralph Lauren dress and there was no mistaking the barest hint of a baby bump. But, with no official statement having yet been made, the world could do nothing more than speculate.
Now, with no way to continue to hide the fact, the news has been made public and we couldn’t be more thrilled. No due date has been released, but insiders say that an October birth is likely.
We can hardly wait to see Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis with their very first cousin. And we’re sure the sisters will have a fabulous time comparing notes and sharing private details about their common experience. If Pippa is anything like Kate, she’s sure to be a fantastic mum!
