Less than a week after the Royal wedding between her daughter, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Doris Ragland is back home in the U.S.A. but friends are reporting that she is not displaying the telltale signs of a mum who had just watched her daughter marry the man of her dreams. Expecting her to be over-the-moon with happiness and bursting forth with all the inside details of her daughter's big day, friends were alarmed by the reserved and silent demeanor Doria displayed upon returning to Los Angeles.
What is causing Ragland to appear so unhappy? It has been reported that the mother-of-the-bride is quite “miserable” over the impossibly stringent rules imposed upon her concerning her daughter and new son-in-law.
Most moms cannot wait to share details about the biggest day in her daughter’s life but, for Doria, that pleasure has been denied. Because of the protective nature of Royal Family security, Ms. Ragland, by default, is now included under that umbrella of secrecy.
Radar Online reports that “Doria can’t eat, speak or otherwise open her mouth about Meghan unless she clears it with the Royal family,” a source close to the new Duchess of Sussex explains to Radar. “They’ve silenced her and made her sign a non-disclosure agreement.
“Her friends are asking how the wedding was, how the food was, asking how happy Meghan is and all Doria did was shrug her shoulders. She didn’t say a word. It’s so sad. The poor lady looks and feels miserable.” How would you feel if you weren't able to talk about your only child's wedding? No mother on earth should be asked to comply with such harsh restrictions.
Unfortunately for Doria, it is a rude awakening amid the wonderful fairytale of Meghan's marrying a Prince, and she is just now beginning to comprehend just what it means for her as mother of the new Duchess of Sussex. Even though she is thousands of miles away in America, she still feels the power of The Crown as she tries to get back to her normal life.
