The British Royal Family is put on one of the highest pedestals known to man, and it’s quite easy to see why. Their unique role in the grand scheme of things sets them apart from others and causes the world to watch their every move as closely as possible.
It’s a known fact that the royal family has numerous standards, rules, and protocols in which they’re required to adhere. Many of these are set in place to help them maintain the longstanding elegance and regal nature the family is known to possess.
Some members of the family, though, tend to bend the rules a bit more than others. One of the repeat offenders over the years is - you guessed it - Prince Harry! From the moment he was born he has been one to wear a sneaky grin and skirt around the protocols as much as possible.
Since becoming a husband, this certainly hasn’t changed. He married a bride that thinks very similarly to them, and at times, causing many to scratch their heads in disbelief at their unbridled characters.
Recently, more news about Prince Harry’s character was revealed and fans were quite eager and excited to hear all about it. It was leaked that Harry makes a rather non-traditional request when staying in hotels - he asks for them to cease their use of plastic.
According to one of his old pals, Nacho Figueras, Harry has always been irked by the amount of plastic waste in hotels. He gave an example in an interview: “He was there and we were at the hotel where we spent the night before the game. He talked to a person and said, ‘This morning I got my coffee and I saw that you have a plastic thing on the coffee. And then I also sent my shirt and got my shirt in a big plastic bag.’ The Prince then added, ‘Can we please not use the plastic?’”
He continued: “So that’s this guy, okay. I don’t like to talk about that at all, that’s who he is. That’s who they are. No plastic.”
This is not the first time someone has taken notice of his distaste for plastic waste. Prince William once spoke about it in an interview: “[Prince Charles] took us litter picking when we were younger. We thought this is perfectly normal, everyone must do it. We were there with our spikes stabbing the rubbish into plastic bags.”
Harry then chimed in: “I’ve literally done this because I’m programmed to do it because my father did. We should all be doing it.”
This is just one more reason to love the Duke of Sussex even more. He’s not only a charming royal and loyal father, but also devoted and passionate about waste and keeping the earth a beautiful and clean place. That’s something worth noting, indeed!
