Meghan Markle has - yet again - stunned the world by one of her non-traditional antics in the royal sphere. Now, people cannot stop talking about it.
On February 19, news broke that the Duchess of Sussex was seen sneaking out of an American hotel and into a dark SUV with bodyguards closely protecting her. Had it not been for some eagle-eyed paparazzi, she would have been able to get away with her secret trip to New York City.
For all we knew, the Duchess was home and well with her hubby, patiently awaiting the arrival of their firstborn child. But, in typical Meghan-like fashion, she refused to let rules, protocols, and regulations keep her from enjoying the simple things in life that she used to have before she became a royal family member.
After it was confirmed that the Duchess was, in fact, in America, she knew she could hide no more and the truth was confirmed: she had made a quick getaway to the states so that her friends could celebrate her and the new little one with a baby shower! This is unheard of in the royal household, so it was a big deal that she made it back to celebrate nonetheless.
One thing that many happened to notice right off the bat was the absence of the Duke. What was he doing while she was enjoying her time away?
As any good man would do, he didn’t let any grass grow under his feet while his bride was away. He still had work to do!
He made a surprise visit to the John Corfield Centre where he greeted and talked with young volunteers, leaders, and students of the Streatham Youth and Community Trust (SYCT). These children were spending their half-term holiday enjoying sporting activities, games, and partaking in a delicious meal provided.
Harry has always had a heart for children and jumped right in to help in any way he could. One of the most endearing moves of his visit was when he willingly volunteered to help the staff prepare and serve hot lunches to the children.
These lunches mean so much to the children there, who often have to forego hot meals for those who aren’t provided enough meals for the day away from school. It was apparent in his bright grin that he enjoyed meeting all of the sweet children there and wouldn’t want to spend his Tuesday any other way!
We’re happy to see that he still enjoyed his time while his wife was enjoying hers. In no time at all, the couple will be reunited and will be even closer to welcoming a new little royal to the family. We can’t wait!
