Heartbreaking Conclusion To Case Of Missing 7-Month-Old Results In Murder Charges

March 08, 2018

Police have been on the lookout for seven-month-old Jody Minjarez since February 19, when he was taken from his mother’s home in Oklahoma City. He was taken by his father, Victor Manuel Minjarez, following an altercation with Jody’s mother. Police became worried about the child’s safety on Wednesday, March 7, when it finally qualified as an Amber Alert. Victor had sent a text to a family friend, asking them to tell Jody’s mom that she would never see her son again.

Unfortunately, it appears the Amber Alert came too late for young Jody Minjarez. Early Thursday morning, Victor was tracked down at a local residence in Oklahoma City. When police searched the home after arresting Victor, they found baby Jody, deceased. Victor has been arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including first-degree murder and desecration of a human corpse.

If you have any information on this murder, we urge you to contact the Norman Police Department at 405-321-1444 or call 911. Please pray for Jody’s mom and family in this trying time, as they face the loss of this adorable seven-month-old child by someone Jody should have been able to trust.
