The 2020 election is still over two years off, but in the political world, it’s not too early for a potential candidate to declare his intentions to seek the office. With the country so divided on the current President, Donald Trump, it looks as though the actual show-down is going to be a contentious one.
Now, in a stunning interview on the Howard Stern radio program, one Hollywood celeb reveals that he has aspirations of greatness in the political realm, and the whole world is wondering if he’s serious or just trying to make a point.
Comedy and Dramatic actor, Alec Baldwin, who has made quite a reputation for himself at the expense of Mr. Trump, has been portraying the President on the late-night comedy program, Saturday Night Live.
Regardless of his intent, his words speak volumes about his true feelings about Mr.Trump. “If I ran, I would win,” Baldwin Said. “I would absolutely win.”
When challenged to explain why he thinks he would be a good candidate, Baldwin went on to say, "The only reason I say that is because I'd love to run for that kind of position to have things just be very common sense," Baldwin added. "There's so many things this country needs to do that are so obvious." He then pointed to the entertainment value of such a contest, saying it would be "the funniest, most exciting, most crazy campaign."
Baldwin has pushed the envelope on many levels in his less-than-flattering portrayal of the President, and many people are wondering if he has somehow crossed the thin line between fantasy and reality with his recent statement.
Only time will. Tell if Baldwin will actually put his money where his mouth is, come 2020. If he does throw his hat into the ring, we can all look forward to an entertaining and one-of-a-kind race!
