In Honor Of The First National Vietnam War Veterans Day, A Sweet Surprise Of A Lifetime
Today is the first National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
In honor of this new national holiday we have a sweet story for you!
Teacher, Mr. Pointe, has always wanted to visit the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall. He's been telling his students about it for years.
He wanted to honor a friend who served in the war and unfortunately died shortly after.
Mr. Pointe made such an impact, that a former student, from 16 years ago, still remembers the story.
That student, who is now a Marine, came through for Mr. Pointe in a big way.
He rallied the school and community together to raise money to send Mr. Pointe to see the wall.
They held a secret assembly. When Mr. Pointe walked in, he had no idea what was about to happen.
As they reveal the secret, Mr. Pointe is stunned.
They had raised over $17,000 for him. How incredible is that?!
It's so amazing to see what an impact a teacher can have and how generous people will be to say thanks.
