The America’s Next Top Model family is in desperate need of your prayers. On December 4, AMNT alum, 34-year-old Jael Strauss, took her final breath surrounded by her loved ones at a hospice facility center.

Strauss succumbed to stage four cancer after a brief two-month battle. She sadly announced the news to her friends and fans on Facebook on October 4:

“I was gonna write some long thing but some of you guys deserve to know. On October 2nd, I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable.”

She continued, “With treatment, it may prolong my life longer than the ‘few months’ doctors said I could make it. I don’t want to die. I need another one of those miracles I got back in 2013.”

In 2007, Strauss made her television debut by starring in the hit television reality show, America’s Next Top Model, where she took home sixth place. In the years that followed, her life took a very drastic and dark turn.

She suffered from a severe drug addiction and it had begun to wreak havoc on her mind and body. Her family did all they could to help her escape her addition and turned to Dr. Phil for assistance with an intervention.

This was just what she had needed all along. After seeking help, she became clean and sober once more.

Following her tragic diagnosis and passing, her family is left grieving the loss of their dear girl. They issued a statement following her death: “The one blessing was that we were able to show her how loved she was before she passed. She brought so much light to people.”

While this is certainly not the outcome anyone could have anticipated, she is no longer suffering. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this heartbreaking time.
