The Queen is opening up her home to one very special new resident, and if you have the “right stuff” it just might be you!! No, Really!! If you have always wanted to live among the royals and have a meaningful impact on their lives, this may be your big opportunity.
Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth has put out a job listing for a new employee and they are looking to fill the position by the end of June. The job being advertised is for a Demi Chef de Partie and all the details can be found on the Royal Household website. So, what exactly is a Demi Chef de Partie? You may be surprised to find out all it entails.
According to OK!, "The posting states: "This is no ordinary Demi Chef de Partie role. In our state-of-the-art kitchens, you'll prepare classical and contemporary menus for a wide range of events, learning essential skills that will provide stepping stones for a great career."
It goes on: "This is no ordinary Demi Chef de Partie role. In our state-of-the-art kitchens, you'll prepare classical and contemporary menus for a wide range of events, learning essential skills that will provide stepping stones for a great career.” It goes on to say, “Every day will be different. You'll prepare receptions and state dinners, as well as staff lunches."
Sounds good, but what are the Queen and Prince Philip looking for - exactly? The royal website goes on to boast: "As you'd expect, standards are exceptionally high here, and every day is busy, so you'll need to be an ambitious and qualified chef.
"You'll have some experience, possibly within a premier kitchen or volume catering, however, this isn't essential. We're more interested in your ability and enthusiasm to deliver across all four sections of [the] kitchen."
Now, let’s get down to the pay. For some reason, even though you will be working for one of the wealthiest families in the world, it never seems that the salary reflects that. And this job is no exception as the starting salary will be “£21,151.88 [$28,650.41] per annum. Package includes 15% employer contribution pension scheme plus benefits. This position offers live-in accommodation (for which there is a salary adjustment) with meals provided.”
While the starting salary doesn’t sound like much, the perks of working for the Queen of England will surely outweigh that small detail for the most die-hard Royal fan. But, there's more. In addition to the salary, “You will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including 33 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
"A 15% employer contribution pension scheme (with the option for flexibility - to increase contributions or draw down as salary), all meals provided, training and development, as well as a range of recreational facilities. In addition, as this is a live-in role, you will be provided with accommodation, for which your salary will be adjusted.”
So??? Are you the person Her Majesty is looking for? If so, you’ll need to get your resume together right away as the job will be filled by May 24th.
