The radiant future Queen Consort, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has a way of always keeping things classic and family-centered. Everything she does or wears is strategically planned, with a great deal of reasoning behind her selections.
Recently, she made headlines in a massive way when she made a somewhat subtle homage to her beloved late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Though the two never had the privilege of meeting, Kate has ensured to always keep her memory vibrant and alive as often as possible.
On May 21, she and William were some of the honored guests present at Queen Elizabeth’s annual garden party. If you know the Queen and her love for events, you know this was no small gathering.
According to sources, “Over 30,000 guests are invited to Her Majesty’s London residence as a way of thanking them for their service to the community. At each party, around 27,000 cups of tea, 20,000 sandwiches, and 20,000 slices of cake are consumed.” Talk about a noteworthy event!
As per usual, they both looked as magnificent and chic as ever before with Kate naturally stealing the show with her stunning light pink ensemble.
She opted for a crisply tailored pale Alexander McQueen coatdress, a Juliette Botterill hat, nude Gianvito Rossi pumps, and a Loeffler Randall clutch. Despite the stunning outfit as a whole, it was her accessories that got the most attention.
With her outfit, she chose to wear a set of pearl-drop earrings that belonged to none other than Princess Diana. This particular set of earrings were given to Diana before she and Charles wed. This is not the first time Kate has worn them out in public, but it’s clear that they are something quite special for she saves them for very important occasions.
It’s reasons such as this that give us an even greater appreciation for the Duchess of Cambridge. Her thoughtfulness exceeds her years and she’s proven she perfectly embodies that of what a future Queen Consort should be.
