There’s no secret about it- the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have the most adorable children. Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, 3 months, are some of the most iconic Royals in history and their legacy is only just beginning.
Mum, Kate Middleton, has stepped into motherhood more naturally than anyone could have foreseen; from her soft and kind spirit to her next-level style, she’s giving the world a lot to talk about when it comes to motherhood.
Duke William and Duchess Kate’s firstborn, Prince George, is third in line to the throne. When it comes to fashion, Kate dresses him very similar to how Princess Diana dress William; button-up shirt, dress shorts, and leather buckled shoes. While fans adore Prince George, they were eager for a little princess to join him.
In 2015, Will and Kate welcomed their second child, a daughter Princess Charlotte. From her first day, Princess Charlotte had the world wrapped around her little finger. Over the years, she’s grown into the sweetest and most adorable little gal with a style that is so very different in today's culture.
Princess Charlotte’s fashionista mum has made sure to dress her daughter in nothing but sweetly printed dresses since she was just months old. In nearly every photo, Princess Charlotte is photographed in a lightly colored floral design dress. After three years of seeing the princess in what appeared to be the same style, fans began to wonder why the princess was never in anything else.
Royal kids-wear designer, Rachel Riley, revealed that Princess Charlotte limited wardrobe comes down to one simple request by her mother: pants on little girls are “suburban.”
Royal expert, William Hanson, shares that Princess Charlotte will likely not be photographed in pants (Nor will Prince George) as appearing “suburban is something no self-respecting royal would want to be considered” for. Furthermore, mum Kate prefers a more timeless look for her children, rather than following the trends.
This reveal is quite shocking, especially to Americans who are known for following every fashion trends as well as dressing for comfort and convenience. In America, many celebrities dress their children in trendy clothes rather than timeless ensembles- this is not something Kate is willing to do with her children.
Trusted designer Rachel shared with The Sun: "If they wear very simple things… it’s timeless in that you can’t really date a specific photo or put them in something that seems out of date." As royals that will forever be in history books, trendsetting is not what Kate wants her children to be known for.
