Just one day after his family’s momentous appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Colour event on Saturday, Prince William left town to attend a charity event with his guy friends, leaving Kate and the children behind - or so he thought. The Duke of Cambridge was taking part in the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at Beaufort Polo Club on Sunday, and he was in for an unexpected treat.
So as William mounted his steed and began playing the polo match, imagine his delight when he looked out and saw Kate and the kids watching and beaming with pride.
We’re not certain if their attendance was planned or if the Duchess wanted to surprise her polo-playing hubby, but the result was charming no matter what - and, dare we say - amusing!
After spending Saturday at a stuffy, grown-up event, little Prince George and Princess Charlotte earned a well-deserved ‘kid-time’ and their mom, Duchess Kate had just the right thing in mind for them.
She packed up her two older children and traveled to Gloucestershire to give the little darlings the opportunity to play on the sidelines and take an occasional glance daddy’s way.
But it was mostly about the playing!
From playing with toys to running up and down the hill, to performing a perfectly executed somersault, the little Cambridges stole the show, much to the delight of all in attendance.
It was so good to see the Duchess of Cambridge out and about two days in a row, after being away from the public eye for her six-week maternity leave. She even managed to take a little trot, herself, unable to resist the fresh air and the chance to frolic with her kids.
We sincerely hope that this means more spotting of our favorite Royal Family over the coming weeks and months.
With the weather cooperating so spectacularly, we’re bound to catch another glimpse of the enchanting brood in the very near future.
And we hold out hope that little Prince Louis will join them on one of their outings soon!
