Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to the spotlight. She’s been wowing the world since her big debut on American Idol in 2002 and continues to gain popularity with each passing year.
As a new coach on the hit television series, The Voice, Clarkson has gained an enormous new following on top of what she already had from her own music. Now that she’s in the spotlight more than ever before, the truth is slowly starting to seep out with each pressing question she’s asked.
Not only does Clarkson have a very busy career as a music artist and a coach on The Voice, but she also is busy raising two little humans, Remington Alexander (2 ½) and River Rose (4). Questions about her kids undoubtedly arise quite often.
Recently, she was asked about her children's’ futures and whether or not she thought they would follow in her footsteps. Her answer was nothing like the internet was expecting to hear.
In a raw and unbridled moment, she stated, “I seriously hope they are tone deaf.” At first, many were taken aback to hear such a startling statement come from such a talented artist. Her reasoning, though, was much different than many assumed.
“I hope they are teachers or doctors or something...It’s a hard industry,” she confessed. Spoken like a true mother. She wants nothing more than to see her children grow up to become successful, thriving individuals and wants to do her part in helping make that happen, even if that does mean she wishes they take a normal career path.
Either way, she proves time and time again that she’s a wonderful mother who simply wants the best for her kids and, for that, we applaud you, Kelly.
