Latest Royal Wedding Details - Prince William Will Not Be Prince Harry’s Best Man

December 27, 2017

Spring of 2018 is gearing up to be a busy time for the Royal Family! Prince Harry will be marrying American Actress Meghan Markle in May and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child in April.

In October 2017, news broke that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expecting their third child. The two already have two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, while the sex of their third little one is still under wraps to the public. There are rumors, however, that The Duchess is expecting another son.

Again, captivating news of a Royal Wedding surfaced in late November 2017, when Prince Harry proposed to his American girlfriend, Meghan Markle. The wedding is set to take place in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

While both brothers are ready to experience life-changing moments of their own, they are still making time to be there for one another. Prince Harry is rumored to be one of the greatest uncles ever, while The Duke has made sure to spend quality time with his brother and sister-to-be.

However, it’s been rumored that one need, in particular, has not quite been fulfilled: Prince William will not be Prince Harry’s Best Man. While Prince Harry might have been Best Man for his brother in his 2011 wedding to Kate Middleton, Prince William won’t be returning the favor.

But don’t fret! Prince Harry will still have his brother by his side on the big day, just not as a best man. In fact, the title of “Best Man” is more an American ceremonial practice than European. In British culture, the groomsmen are considered “supporters.”

Prince William gave his brother the title of “Best Man” more for sentimental reasons, but it’s since been rumored that Prince Harry will not return the sentiment. Prince Harry will keep the tradition of having “supporters” rather than a best man or groomsmen. Now, that could definitely change. After all, we’re still waiting to learn if the bride-to-be is going along with the British tradition and going without bridesmaids as well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

As of now, Prince Harry will not have his brother has a best man, but rather a supporter, in honor of the British tradition. If you want to follow along with the Royal Wedding, make sure to follow our page on Facebook!
