One of the world’s most legendary actors has a family that’s unwilling to stay quiet, and her reason is resonating with young and old all across the globe.
Four years ago, the universe was hit with a startling devastation - Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy had tragically passed away. It was a heartbreaking time for fans of all ages as they reminisced the wondrous talent that Nimoy possessed.
His family, most of all, was severely heartbroken. His loss rocked them to the core and since his passing, his wife, Susan, has made it her mission to bring awareness to the dreadful disease that took her beloved from her.
Susan recently sat down to take part in a new commercial campaign that urges smokers to kick their habits immediately. Her reasoning comes solidly backed. Leonard had a long battle with a smoking addiction - 37 years to be exact.
While he had made multiple attempts to kick the habit for good, he always managed to fall back into its trap, getting deeper into the addiction that ultimately took his life from him.
She begins by talking about how Leonard had “chronic breathing difficulties for as long as I knew him.” She then went on to say that it was as if he knew that lung cancer would one day be the cause of his death, but never once considered the possibility to be from COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.”
She then gives a heartbreaking word to the audience before the commercial ends: “You always think you have more time than you do, and you really don’t.”
If you or someone you know struggles with a smoking addiction, you are urged to watch her tragic plea in her video. Don’t wait to quit until it’s too late.
