When it comes time to pick out a new animal companion there are many places that you can choose to go to find just the right one. One of the kindest things you can do is to visit your local animal shelter. There are not only many animal types to choose from, but these are also animals that are desperately in need of a new home.
When Easton’s mom told him that he could pick out a new pet, he was unsure whether he wanted a kitten, a puppy, or maybe something smaller. As any young boy would be, he was super excited to see what kind of animals were out there so, before he went to the animal shelter, they checked out the Exploits Valley SPCA Adoptables page to see what sorts of animals were ready for adoption.
That is when Easton saw the cat he knew would become his new furry friend! Tiny is a ten-year-old ginger-colored male cat. He may have been ‘Tiny’ at one point, but that was no longer the case. He had, in fact, become a very well-rounded kitty.
Easton's mom contacted the shelter to find out more about her son’s choice. Even though Tiny had been brought to the shelter with his sister, Trinity, he had never bonded with her so he was able to be adopted into a separate home. Easton was happy to learn that Tiny was available right away and ready for a new family. Easton and his mom went to the shelter to meet Tiny, and Easton instantly fell in love with him. On the way home, Tiny insisted on being let out of the cat carrier and he climbed onto Easton's lap for a snuggle! It seems Tiny was in love with his new human too!
We are so very happy for both Tiny and Easton. Although Easton could have chosen any animal in the shelter that day, he wanted to give a senior cat his own fur-ever home! What a great kid!
