When owning a car, there are many things to keep in mind. Since it will likely be used quite frequently, it’s best to ensure that it’s kept in tip-top shape at all times. It’s also a good idea to stay in-the-know when it comes to the make and model of your car. Recalls happen quite often, and, depending on the severity, being on top of them could potentially save your life.
Ford has recently issued a recall of over one million vehicles purchased in North America. The cause for the recall is that in several makes and models, the steering wheel bolts have loosened and have the ability to detach completely. This could cause numerous fatalities because if the steering wheel is detached, all control of the vehicle is lost.
The following makes and models are of concern:
-2014-2017 Ford Fusions (Manufactured at the Flat Rock Plant in Michigan from August 6, 2013 to February 29, 2016)
-2014-2018 Ford Fusions (Manufactured at the Hermosillo Plant in Mexico from July 25, 2013, to March 5, 2018)
-2014-2018 Lincoln MKZs (Manufactured at the Hermosillo Plant in Mexico from July 25, 2013, to March 5, 2018)
If you feel your car could be one on the recall list and want to check, you can enter the car’s VIN number on the NHTSA website. If you or anyone you know owns a vehicle that could be in question, be sure to alert them of this urgent recall!
