Oh baby, this is big!
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married on Mary 19th, 2018, the world watched in utter adoration. The beloved couple had quickly captivated millions with their love. There was no secret about it: these two were what fairytale dreams were made of.
With such a deep fascination for the royal Duke and Duchess, it wasn’t long before fans began speculating of when the couple would begin growing their family. During their famous engagement interview, Harry and Meghan were asked about having children of their own one day. Harry promptly responded with, “One step at a time.”
Once the wedding came and went, attention immediately shifted towards a pregnancy announcement. While Harry and Meghan were staying busy with royal duties, fans anxiously awaited seeing the confirming tweet from Kensington Palace announcing that everyone’s favorite newlyweds were pregnant. Finally, on October 15th, the news broke.
In a post shared with an excited picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the words, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.” Within seconds, the announcement went viral with more than 63,865 retweets and 277,940 likes.
Immediately following the announcement, PEOPLE confirmed that the Duchess had already had her 12-week ultrasound. Judging from the timeline, it would appear as though Meghan and Harry would be welcoming their firstborn in
April 2019. However, that no longer appears to be the case.
While chatting with a fan and fellow celebrity in Sydney, Australia during her tour, Meghan must have spilled the beans about her very private pregnancy; Missy Higgins, who met and spoke with Meghan Markle, took to social media where she shared about her experience meeting the Duchess.
On her Instagram, Missy revealed, “What an honor to meet the beautiful Duchess today! She was such a sweetheart. I said I felt sorry for her having to do all these meet-and-greets while 4 months pregnant! What a trooper. Prince Harry was gorgeous too, a real charmer. He squeezed Luna's legs and said 'who's this little cutie?' Looking forward to telling Luna she slept through it all one day."
Did you catch that?? She said, “having to do all these meet-and-greets while 4 months pregnant!” 4 months- not three!
That means that rather than coming in April, the new baby will likely arrive in March 2019! Many are speculating that if Meghan is already four months pregnant, then the baby will actually arrive before the first day of Spring which is March 20th.
There still nothing confirmed about the baby’s official due date, however, discretion tends to be a tradition with the Royals. Do you think Meghan will have a boy or a girl? I for one an hoping for a little boy, but more than anything- I’m hoping for a healthy baby. What do you think?
