Meghan Markle stunned at the European premiere of the new live-action version of Disney's "The Lion King." She walked the red carpet alongside her husband Prince Harry.
The premiere took place in London on Sunday. It was the second public appearance for Prince Harry, 34, and Duchess Meghan, 37, since the birth of their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in May.
Markle chose to wear a knee-length black dress with sheer sleeves and sheer paneling across her décolletage for the event. The look is very reminiscent of 1950s stars like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.
The Duchess of Sussex had her hair pulled back in a tight bun. She styled the dress with a black clutch with gold detailing and black heels.
The Daily Mail reported that the $4,343 dress was designed by Jason Wu, reported The Insider. The outing marked Markle's first ever movie premiere as a member of the royal family.
On the red carpet, the royal couple interacts with a couple who are essentially American royalty: Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Videos posted on social media captured the moment Markle met Beyoncé, and when the two greeted each other with a warm hug. She also reportedly said, "My princess" when she met her.
In the videos, Markle, Harry, Beyoncé, Jay-Z could be seen chatting amongst themselves. They reportedly discussed baby Archie.
According to PEOPLE, Beyoncé told Meghan that her baby Arch is “so beautiful.” The discussion of the infant didn't stop there. Prince Harry also revealed that Archie, who was born on May 6, can already lift up his neck.
This was the first time that Meghan met Beyoncé and Jay-Z. She was clearly excited to meet the singer, who is Nala in the movie.
Jay-Z, who has three children with Beyoncé, offered a piece of advice for the new parents. He said, “The best advice I can give you, always find some time for yourself,” he told Meghan and Harry.
Harry also asked about JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s young twins. “They are not here. They don’t come on every trip,” replied the pop star. “We left them at home. They would loved to have been here.”
After the meeting, Beyoncé smiled broadly and told reporters of the royal couple, “They are so sweet.”
