Meghan Markle has officially been called the one thing that no pregnant woman wants to be called - ever.
The Duchess of Sussex is expecting her first child in Spring 2019 and her growing baby bump seems to be all anyone can talk about.
On January 16th, 2019, Meghan visited one of her new patronages, Mayhew. Mayhew works to improve the lives of dogs, cats and the people in the community, tackling the root cause of animal abandonment and neglect and supporting vulnerable people to stay with their companion pets. As a well-known pet lover and rescue pup owner to two pups herself, Meghan was thrilled to visit Mayhew.
The Duchess arrived in classy style with a beige sweater dress and beige coat. After arriving at Mayhew, she had a chance to meet with some of the staff.
As Meghan was greeting the staff, she met several women and complimented her and congratulated her on her pregnancy. One compliment, in particular, was not subtle whatsoever and has since become International news!
As one woman was sharing her congratulations, she looked at Meghan and said, “You’re a fat lady!”
To everyone’s surprise, Meghan didn’t waste anytime and immediately burst out in laughter! She knew the woman was paying her a compliment and accepted the compliment by saying, “I’ll take it,” with a grin. The rest of the staff laughed as Meghan perfectly accepted being called the one thing that no pregnant woman wants to hear.
During the rest of her visit with Mayhew, Meghan was able to see some of the projects ran by the charity and the designs that they’ve put into practice in hopes of improving the lives of animals and people. According to PEOPLE, “Some of the projects include animal therapy visits, work with homeless people and their pets and international projects, such as dog rabies vaccinations.”
Later on in the visit, Meghan shocked everyone, again, by picking up a pup and holding him on her chest! A picture of the Duchess went viral and showed everyone a softer and animal-loving side to her.
Pretty soon, Meghan will be holding a baby and we can’t wait to see how the soon-to-be mother looks holding her child! Baby Sussex is due to arrive in Spring 2019 and there is still no telling on whether or not the baby is a boy or girl! What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
