Meghan’s American Family Still Trying To Get Under Her Skin With Most Recent Rant, But Prince Harry Steps In And Cushions The Blow

May 30, 2018

Samantha Markle Grant, Prince Harry’s new half-sister-in-law, just won’t give it a rest. Just when the sting of not having been invited to her estranged half-sister’s wedding on May 19th has begun to subside, a new perceived slight has her up in arms once more.

This time, it has to do with the enormous honor Meghan received last week from Queen Elizabeth, but Samantha has decided to use it as a launchpad for creating more family turmoil. Ms. Grant has a lot to say about the Coat of Arms Meghan was given and none of it is any good.

The embittered half-sister is now complaining that their father, Thomas Markle, Sr. was not given the CoA, as has been a tradition after previous royal weddings. For example, when Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011, it wasn’t the bride who was given the Coat, but her father Michael Middleton.

Samantha is using her emotions to guide her on this issue, rather than looking into why this might have happened. Instead of taking it personally, it might do her well to do a little research on the subject of Royal Coats of Arms. In order for the Coat of Arms to be bestowed upon an entire family, they must be able to prove that they were, at one time, under British rule.

As of now, there is no evidence of that where the Markle family is concerned. That is why it was given directly to Meghan, as she now has a connection to royalty, as she is now a member of it!

Her opening salvo was concerning how it looked, ridiculing it on Twitter as infantile. “looks like it was drawn by someone in a kindergarten classroom,” but her harshest criticism comes as a result of how her father was ‘snubbed.’

Grant “was most insulted that the new Duchess of Sussex did not pay homage to their father, Thomas Markle, or other family members on the coat of arms, as it was supposedly ‘personal and representative.’"

She also belittled the representations on the design, claiming the symbols were hypocritical, especially the nod to Meghan being a great communicator. “Quills for communication? She does not communicate with people she cuts people out of her life including a best friend of 30 years and two speeches in her whole lifetime does not make her a public speaker.”

Even though her comments were meant to hurt her sister, Samantha has likely fallen short of that goal. It’s doubtful that Meghan gives much thought to what her griping relative has to say.

The new ‘Mrs. Prince Harry’ is still on Cloud Nine after her fairytale wedding just a couple of weeks ago. And with her and Harry’s romantic honeymoon just around the corner, it is inconceivable that the new bride will have much room in her heart for the ravings of kvetching family members thousands of miles away.
