It hasn’t even been a month since one of the grandest events for the British Royal Family has occurred - the day that Archie Harrison was born!
The world has been in constant mutters about the little royal since the day Harry and Meghan officially announced they were expecting their first child together. The world watched in gleeful anticipation as the due date grew nearer. Finally, on May 6, 2019, everyone heard the long-awaited news that a healthy baby boy had been born!
Long before Archie was born, though, Meghan decided to start her maternity leave sooner than later and took her official break from royal duties. While it was certainly understandable to see her wanting to take a little bit of preparation time before her little one was to make his debut, it made many fans ansty, all left wondering just when we’d get to see the Duchess again. After all, we’d grown quite accustomed to seeing her on a regular basis.
Now that Archie is here, she is still on maternity leave and will likely continue it for the next several months so that she can spend as much time as possible with her baby. According to the standard royal protocol, royal mothers are allowed up to six months of maternity leave if they so desire.
This news certainly was devastating to so many Meghan fans. How could they possibly go that long without seeing her more often? Apparently, the Duchess heard the cries of the fans and is planning a quick comeback that makes any royal fan squeal with delight.
On June 8, the royal family will celebrate one of the grandest events of the year, Trooping of the Colour. This is a lavish and grand parade all in honor of Queen Elizabeth’s birthday, so it’s easy to see why it’s such an important event.
Last year was Meghan’s first official time attending such an event and she was seen proudly standing beside her adoring husband, Harry, and with her new family. Since this is such a grand event for the family as a whole, many believe Meghan is going to temporarily break her maternity leave to make this appearance possible.
If you aren’t as familiar with the Queen’s Trooping of the Colour, here’s a quick breakdown of what you’ll be seeing: “Over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians come together each June in a great display of military precision, horsemanship, and fanfare to mark the Queen’s official birthday.”
While many are stunned to the core that Meghan is planning a quick leave, it isn’t all that common of a practice for the mothers of the family. In fact, Kate Middleton did the very same last year for Harry and Meghan’s wedding. Merely six weeks after giving birth to Louis, she made it a point to be there for her brother-in-law’s big day.
Only time will tell just if Meghan will follow through with her plans, but we can only hope!
