Over the past two days, the world has taken a moment to silently mourn the passing of the iconic former First Lady, Barbara Bush. She was known and loved by so many, touching numerous lives during her 93 years on earth.
Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on for generations to come. She left behind six children, 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Despite the heartache the family has faced during her passing, they now have a reason to rejoice amid their sorrows. Two weeks before her due date, Barbara and George H.W. Bush’s granddaughter welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the family.
The Bush’s son, Neil, made the proud announcement on Facebook. He started off by honoring his late mother:
“Maria and I were so blessed to spend lots of time with mom and dad during mom’s last weeks, and we are so grateful for the condolences and the outpouring of love expressed towards her by many, many friends. Barbara Bush was loved by everyone. She lived a remarkable life blessing family, friends, and total strangers around the world. Mom left on her terms. In the final hours, she was comfortable, loving, surrounded by family, holding hands with dad. Maria and I will always be grateful for being able to say a proper goodbye to our wonderful mother.”
After the heartfelt sentiment and thanksgiving to the public for their generous outpouring of love during this troubling time, he announced the happy news to the world.
“And then two days later, yesterday morning, two weeks before her due date, Lauren Bush Lauren gave birth to a beautiful 7 lb 8 oz baby boy, Max Walker Lauren. The circle of life. God is good.”
Neil and Maria Bush’s daughter, Lauren Bush Lauren, and husband, David Lauren, welcomed their second son into the world. Together they have a two-year-old named James who now holds the title of “Proud Big Brother.” This little one makes eight great-grandchildren for George H.W. Bush.
This certainly makes one think that this kind of thing doesn’t happen just by chance. It’s as if God knew the Bush family needed their spirits lifted during this troubling time and sent Max a little bit early to help turn their mourning into joy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this sorrowful, yet happy time in their lives.
