Rabbits are some of the most adorable animals around; with their long ears and extremely soft coats, they are simply irresistible! Rabbit pelts are often used to make a variety of clothing options, like hats and gloves. Angora Rabbits, however, have a rather unique coat that is used to spin extremely soft yarn!
One Angora Rabbit named Merlin has the fluffiest coat I’ve ever seen, and it’s all thanks to the fact that he was actually bred to make yarn! Of course, the yarn-making doesn’t hurt the gentle rabbit. The fur is either gently plucked out, or the rabbit is shorn like a sheep. If their coat isn’t maintained, they often become matted which causes severe problems for these sweet rabbits. Thankfully for Merlin, his momma loves him and gets him the regular coat care he needs - even being shaved in the summer!
Gentle Merlin is absolutely gorgeous and it’s easy to see why this fluffy bunny has begun to rise to Instagram fame! With his gorgeous dusty-brown colored coat he could almost be mistaken for a funny looking dust bunny! I think it’s safe to say this is the absolute fluffiest bunny you’ll see for a long long time!
