Prince William Reported To Be 'Furious' Over Charles' Treatment Of Kate's Parents - And The Queen Had To Step In

November 01, 2018

In many families, it's a common occurrence for the mother's parents to be closer to the grandchildren than the father's parents - whether it's due to the closeness of a mother and her daughter, or for some biological reason, this issue caused a reported rift in the Royal family of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

In a new unauthorized biography about The Prince of Wales, 'Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion, and Defiance of Prince Charles' author Tom Bower claims to have inside information about the Royals and opens up on topics that have, before now, been kept under wraps. One of the most stunning revelations has to do with his beloved grandchildren.

Charles had felt 'usurped' by the Middletons and their relationship with the grandchildren, George and Charlotte. This came on the heels of the Duke and Duchess choosing to spend last Christmas with Kate's family instead of with Charles and Camilla.

Charles, who is known to be rather sensitive, was hurt by this choice and, reportedly began to blame the Middletons for his being left out.

According to the book, Charles went on a campaign to 'snub' the Middletons, leaving them out of public events that they could have attended.

According to excerpts appearing in People, "Bower claims that several of the Queen’s courtiers allegedly 'decided to ignore Carole Middleton on social occasions' after picking up on Charles’ alleged fears of being overshadowed."

The report goes on to say, "William became 'infuriated' and 'consulted with his grandmother,' Bower claims. The Queen countered 'the hurtful snubs against Carole' with an invitation to drive her around the Balmoral estate — and allegedly inviting a TV cameraman to film their outing, according to Bower."

Thank goodness The Queen is a mistress of social graces and etiquette and has an innate sense of just the right thing to do to smooth ruffled feathers. However, her move to placate the Middletons did nothing to repair the rift between Charles and Prince William.

William is said to be 'furious' over his father's actions, and we imagine it had the potential to cause marital problems between the Duke and his wife, Kate.

Hopefully, the family will, over time, figure out a way to work through this issue, and we are confident that now that William and Kate's third child, Prince Louis has arrived, there will be more than enough grandbaby love to go around!! And before you know it, everything will be back to normal.

After all, everyone involved loves, cherishes, and enjoys spending time with those precious kids and, with a little coaxing, are sure to do whatever it takes to keep all the grandparents on good terms.
