If you had to pick one dessert to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be? For me, it’s a no-brainer. There isn’t a dessert in the entire world as satisfying as a deliciously gooey homemade chocolate chip cookie. The soft warm center, melted chocolate chips, and crisp edges are enough to make me weak in the knees!
While I visit a little bakery down the street to satisfy my sweet tooth, I’ve been trying my hand at perfecting my very own cookie recipe. There are so many variations of how this cookie is made that the search can be rather daunting. I recently came across one recipe that is a little different from the rest.
A woman named Sarah Kieffer is a wildly popular Instagrammer who specializes in all things sweet. She has gained a ton of attention on the internet for her iconic chocolate chip cookies. Not only has she perfected the recipe of the chocolate chip cookie, she’s altered the look. At first glance, you can see they are a bit different in appearance. Her technique for this shape is quite simple and you have to get a bit noisy to do it.
While her cookies are baking in the oven, she occasionally opens the oven door and bangs the pan. This method causes a bit of a rippling effect on the outside and helps the cookies bake evenly. It causes her cookies to have the perfect balance between delectably gooey and mildly crunchy. I didn’t know it was even possible to get the best of both worlds but Sarah has found a way to make it happen! Check out the video, below, to see just how she makes these mouthwatering treats.
