Minnie Mouse Mixes Things Up In Hollywood

On January 22, 2018, Minnie Mouse was honored with a Hollywood Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Minnie Mouse became a household name 90 years ago this year! She first appeared in the 1928 film "Steamboat Willie" and since been in 70 movies! Her legacy has carried alongside famous and notable characters such as Donald Duck, Winnie The Pooh, Tinkerbell, Kermit The Frog, Snow White, and of course, Mickey Mouse!

Minnie Mouse was honored with the coveted Hollywood Star with some very kind words by some big names in the Hollywood world. Bob Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company and international superstar and “American Idol” judge, Katy Perry, presented Minnie with well- deserved star.

Minnie accepted the star with cheer and grace saying, "I'm so grateful and I want to thank all my friends from around the world. And Mickey, I'm so happy you're here to share this wonderful day with me. This really is the best day ever!"

The crowd cheered as the adorable and recognizable character received her spot on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the unveiling, Minnie worked the crowd as only Minnie could; she shined brightly in her red and white polka dot dress and sweet smile as she encouraged cheering and joy from the crowd.

That wasn’t the only honor Minnie Mouse was given though! Leron Gubler, the president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, also declared Jan. 22 Minnie Mouse Day in Hollywood!!
