On February 12, 2018, 35-year-old Timothy Cunningham disappeared after leaving work early, claiming to be sick. For the last two months, police have searched tirelessly for any sign of the missing scientist, but nothing was discovered. However, police have now revealed that they discovered his body this week.

As of yet, police are not releasing any information other than that his body was found in the Chattahoochee River on Tuesday. The cause of death has not yet been revealed. Timothy worked for the CDC as an epidemiologist, and his disappearance has been surrounded by countless theories due to his work.

A majority of the theories revolved around his work, and have caused quite a lot of worry for the general public. Many fear that Timothy had been accidentally infected with a disease during his work, and worried that it would cause an unexpected outbreak.

Others believe that after being denied a recent promotion, Timothy stole samples and was selling them to outside companies and even, other countries. No theory was ever confirmed by the police, leaving rumors to spread wildly.

Timothy was last seen after leaving work early, and was not seen alive again. At 5:21 am he sent his mother a text asking if she was awake, and at 9:12 am that day, he attempted to call her, although she did not answer.

A $10,000 reward was being offered for clues in his disappearance as this was a high profile case because of his employment. Hopefully, details will soon be released in this case. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they face this difficult time.
