Lately, it seems like anyone and everyone is picking a side when it comes to the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex.
On March 8th, 2019, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, celebrated her role as Vice President to the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust as a panelist at an International Women’s Day event. The Duchess, a well-known feminist, was thrilled to share some of her personal opinions regarding the feminist movement.
While she spoke with elegance, conviction, and experience, the attention appeared to be more on what she was wearing rather than what she was saying. This is because, well, it was rather notable.
Typically, Megs opts for safe and neutral outfits that bring little conversation other than fit and print. But today, her outfit immediately reminded royal watchers of her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton!
Meghan wore a Reiss dress with an abstract black and white print and a black blazer. As soon as she stepped out of her car, fans were immediately reminded of Kate Middleton’s 2013 look; a white dress with black polkadots and a black cardigan. Kate wore this when she was pregnant with her first child, Prince George.
Of course, the two Duchess’ were pitted against each other. For months, critics have been saying Meghan needs to dress like Kate. But the moment she wore nearly an exact replica of an outfit, she was attacked for wearing something too short.
Immediately, side-by-sides of the two outfits began flooding the Internet. Of course, the dresses were on the shorter side… but they were nearly the same length. The only difference is Meghan sat down in front of an audience while Kate walked around the Warner Bros. event.
I think both women looked beautiful. The dresses were on the shorter side, obviously, but both women looked great! And rather than focusing on what they wear, people should focus on what Meghan said! Her words were brilliant. What do you think? Let us know in the comments but remember to keep it clean!
