The Duchess of Sussex is officially in the final stages of her pregnancy with her first child. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are thrilled to welcome their first child just less than a year after marrying in May 2018.
Since announcing her pregnancy in October, Meghan has been heavily involved in her royal duties. She’s made several appearances during her pregnancy, each time debuting her baby bump more and more. With a vague “Spring 2019” due date, it was difficult to know when the last time we would all see Meghan would be.
But on March 13th, 2019, Vanity Fair reports that Meghan has officially taken maternity leave!
Vanity Fair shared that the Duchess’ last outing before Baby Sussex arrives was the Westminster Abbey Commonwealth Day service on Monday, March 11th, 2019. According to the press, a source reportedly revealed that the soon-to-be mom doesn’t have an 'official engagements' lined up. In other words, she’s started her maternity leave.
Rather than making public appearances, the Duchess is likely sharing preparing ready for the birth of her and Prince Harry's baby. And while Buckingham Palace has not confirmed her maternity plans, but according to the Daily Mail, they did say that Meghan “did not currently have any more official engagements scheduled, but will attend several private meetings.”
Along with preparing for their baby, Meghan is likely nesting in her new home at Frogmore Cottage. During these couple weeks of her pregnancy, we hope she gets the rest she needs before welcoming her little one. We can’t wait to meet little Baby Sussex!
