When Harry and Meghan began dating in 2016, their privacy was the strongest it would ever be. But when news broke that Prince Harry was dating a Hollywood actress, the media stormed Meghan. And unbeknownst to Meghan, her life and career had set her up really well from some major coverage in the tabloids.
Meghan was a well-known actress in a very popular television series called Suits. But more than than that, she was an outspoken human rights activist, a foodie, a fashion-lover, and a very outspoken user on her social media platforms. Meghan even had her own blog, called The Tig, where she featured personal experiences with her public following. But, as Royal protocol would have it, Meghan’s social media and status in Hollywood would need to not only remain under the radar, but she would need to give up her platforms indefinitely.
In November 2017, Harry and Meghan were officially engaged to be married, making Meghan a soon-to-be Royal. While much of Harry’s life would remain the same as Meghan joined him in London, Meghan’s life would never be the same.
Without a platform to share her opinions, experiences, and thoughts, Meghan’s fans were left knowing very little about the women who once shared quite freely. Meghan and Harry married in May 2018 and the newly titled Duchess of Sussex was watched by millions has she learned to follow her new strict Royal Protocol.
However, it doesn’t seem that Meghan’s adherence lasted all that long. On April 2nd, 2019, history was made when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex created their own Instagram account: Sussex Royal.
Sussex Royal is the new official Instagram account of Harry and Meghan. Previously, the couple shared an account with William and Kate, but after splitting their Royal offices, they created their own account. But, what’s interesting is not their own account, but rather the fact that the account is very likely being ran and operated by Meghan, herself!
Here are some of the reasons true royal-watchers believe Meghan is running the Instagram: the captions feature several “American-isms” rather than “British-isms,” emojis are used throughout captions, and her history with the app. While several captions feature sure signs that an American is running the profile, we believe it’s Meghan herself who is taking the time to share with her fans and followers. What do you think?!
