What started out as a seemingly harmless night out with close friends took a deadly turn within a matter of seconds.
Weather forecaster, Chelsea Ambriz, found herself hit with a misdemeanor battery charge after she allegedly attacked co-worker, Erica Bivens. The two work together on the 4 pm news for WSAZ Charleston.
The co-workers and former friends were having a fun night together after work at a local bar. After some time, Erica began to suspect that Chelsea was becoming a little too friendly with her husband.
In a heated rage, she confronted Chelsea with her alleged accusations. As her anger built, she forcefully shoved Erica, sending her straight to the ground.
As a result of the unbridled altercation, Erica suffered a ruptured eardrum and a skull fracture. Authorities were immediately called to the scene of the incident.
Following this, the news station has yet to confirm or deny any word on the state of the situation or the women involved. As of now, Chelsea has been suspended from her position.
Erica, on the other hand, has been told she should seek out a protective order against Chelsea. If this takes place, the job security for Chelsea will be a bit up in the air.
She has since been summoned to appear in court on September 21 where, if found guilty, will face up to a year in jail and/or a fine up to $500 for her actions.
What do you think about this? Do you think Chelsea should be charged for her unbridled behavior toward her friend?
