The Duke and Duchess have finally announced their baby name for their third born and the world couldn’t more excited. On Friday, April 27th, the Kensington Palace Twitter account revealed the little prince’s name to be High Royal Highness Prince Louis Arthur Charles of Cambridge.
Absolute hysteria broke out in England once the name was finally revealed. After hearing the name, everyone is curious about how William and Kate decided on the little prince’s name.
Traditionally, British Royalty is known for choosing prestigious and dignified names as well as family names. The names are to be valuable and powerful. For their newest little one, they decided to do the same thing!
Louis is a name that means famous in battle and famous warrior. The name is quite common it the royal family and even is shared between the new prince and his brother and father, Prince George and Prince William. The name for the newborn prince is believed to be in honor of Earl Louis Mountbatten, his great-great-great- grandfather.
Arthur, his first middle name, means bear, noble, and courageous. Again, this name is shared with Prince William (William Arthur Philip Louis) as well as Prince Charles (Charles Philip Arthur George). The is simple and honors the new prince’s patriarchs.
Charles, which is his second middle name, means a strong, free, and manly man. This one is an obvious tribute to his grandfather and first in line for the throne, Prince Charles. However, this is also a tribute to Prince Harrwhoseo’s full name is Henry Charles Albert David. The name is believed to first be from the 17th-century monarch, King Charles I, who lived from
1600 to 1649.
