Prince William confirmed some exciting news on July 1st, 2019!
On July 1st, 2019, a group of loyal well-wishers stood outside of Kensington Palace remembering the late and great Princess of Wales, Diana. The long-time celebrators stood outside the Palace gates from 5:30 am well into the evening in part of a Princess Diana vigil in honor of her 58th birthday.
For years the last 22 years, loyal fans of Princess Diana have honored her life by participating in a vigil outside of her former home. This year, they experienced the closest part of Diana during their vigil- her son, Prince William.
Knowing what fans had been doing for years, Prince William decided to finally meet the ones who had been endlessly celebrating his mother. Around 6:45 pm. After more than 12 hours honoring the late princess, Prince William emerged from his home at Kensington Palace to personally meet with those were celebrating his mother.
Fans were utterly stunned to see Princess Diana’s eldest son and the future king walked out from the Palace gates. Prince William approached the group of people and held out his hand for the most sincere “Thank you.”
William shared his gratitude for the many years the group had honored and celebrated his mother’s life. Shaking the hand of each visitor, he thanked them for their love towards his mother. During his quick meet-and-greet, one man remembered Princess Diana by saying, “She was born with two hearts: her own and one for us.”
During the surprise visit from Prince William, he made sure to confirm some of the highly anticipated news about his mother’s legacy statue. When one onlooker asked the question regarding the statue honoring his mother would finally be effected in her memory outside the palace, the prince confirmed that the legacy statue would be revealed: “Soon, very soon.”
He confirmed the exciting news by sharing, “We just want to make sure it is right. It's important to get it right.” We couldn’t agree more!
