If there is something that the British Royal Family is exceptionally good at, it’s celebrating! And true royal watchers know that the best celebrations happen around the holidays.
This year, Royal watchers and critics alike are excited to see the Royals celebrate the Christmas holiday. Each year, the holiday festivities and gatherings are more precious as members of the family are getting much older, there’s no telling how many Christmas celebrations will be shared.
This year, Queen Elizabeth threw her annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. This Christmas lunch takes place every year, and of course, all of the Royals are invited. This year was especially special because of two very adored attendees.
Last year’s guest of honor was Prince Harry’s then fiancé, Meghan Markle. Do you have any guesses for who the most adored guests were this year?
If you guessed Prince Philip and Prince Louis, you’re right!
These two Royals were major crowd pleasers at the Queen’s lunch. This year was an exceptionally challenging year for Prince Philip. At 96 years old (now 97-years-old), he had a secret hip surgery that required some severe rehabilitation time. Prince Louis was born just weeks after his great- grandfather’s surgery.
Having the eldest member of the Royal Family and the youngest member of the Royal Family is undoubtedly an exciting time and serves as a great reminder that life is a beautiful gift. While Prince Louis won’t be the youngest member of the Royal Family for that much longer (he’s expecting a new cousin in Spring 2018), we hope someone somewhere snapped a picture of Prince Philip holding his great-great-grandson!
