Father Learns Sad News That His Flight Attendant Daughter Had To Work Christmas Eve And Christmas Day; His Response Is More Amazing Than Anything Seen Before

December 28, 2018

When this dad learned that his daughter would be working on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, he went the extra mile to make sure that they would be together. Or should I say the extra 30,000 miles?

Pierce Vaughan is a young flight attendant working for Delta Airlines. During one of the busiest times of the year, she was asked to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Unlike everyone else who was traveling to see their families, Pierce was stuck working 30,000 feet in the sky.

When she first got her schedule, she shared the news with her parents. Rather than coming home to Ohio for the holidays, she would be working. Thankfully for her, her dad devised a brilliant plan to ensure that he and his daughter would spend Christmas together.

Pierce’s dad, Hal, purchased six separate flights on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day - all of which his daughter was working as the flight attendant. This way, Hal was able to spend the day with his daughter on Christmas rather than being separated.

Hal, who was perfectly content spending the day with his daughter in the air, even got upgraded to first class on one of the flights where he was able to share his traveling endeavors with a fellow passenger. When the passenger heard the great lengths that the father had gone through to be with his daughter on Christmas Day, he shared their story to Facebook. Immediately, the story went viral.

PEOPLE covered the story which gave it even more reach to readers around the world. Millions were gracious to see a father go to such great lengths to be with his daughter for the holidays. Pierce reshared the original post from the passenger who shared their story with a caption that read, “Look Ma, we made it Kimberly Hal Vaughan! Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success! A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew. He made it on every flight and even got first class RSW-DTW (Christmas miracle). Shoutout to Mike Levy for being a great first class passenger & helping us to understand how cool this actually is!”

This is just the feel-good kind of story that we love reading! We are so happy that Hal and his daughter, Pierce, were able to spend Christmas together! Doesn’t this story make you happy? Let us know what you think in the comments on Facebook!
