When Kate Middleton’s sister, Pippa and her husband James Matthews showed up at the French Open over the weekend, they raised eyebrows around the world. She wore a gorgeous Ralph Lauren red and white print wrap dress that conspicuously hugged her waistline.
Due to the style of the dress, it left nothing to the imagination and it became abundantly clear that she is sporting a baby bump. The typically svelte sister of the Duchess of Cambridge seemed to be “letting it all hang out” in spite of the fact that her pregnancy has never been formally announced.
Rumors began in April that Pippa was expecting her first child, but that story was overshadowed by the April 23rd arrival of her nephew Prince Louis, courtesy of sister Kate and husband Prince William. Insiders are saying that the news was suppressed so as not to interfere with the celebration of the new Royal Baby.
Instead, many expected that after a couple of weeks passed, the younger Middleton sister would publicly share the news. But no such news has been reported, and the sight of Pippa’s baby bump was a surprise to many.
Harpers Bazaar reminds us that “Pippa's pregnancy was revealed back in April and, with a ‘friend’ close to the couple telling the Sunday Express that Kate Middleton ‘could not have been more delighted’ to hear the news that her sister would soon be having a baby.
The same source told the Sunday Express, "When Pippa found out she was pregnant, she was obviously thrilled and utterly overjoyed," and that the baby news ‘provided some much-needed happiness’ for the entire family.”
And best of all with the news of a baby for Pippa is this: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will have a new cousin later this year!! And the sisters (Kate and Pippa) must be thrilled that their children will get to grow up together!
And we can't wait to see what kind of Auntie the Duchess of Cambridge will be when her new niece or nephew is born. And I'm sure she will have all kinds of helpful advice for her little sis, seeing as she's been through it three times already. Great times ahead for the Middleton girls!
