Police Investigating Case Of Pregnant Teen Murdered In Car As Double Homicide

April 11, 2018

18-year-old Aiyonna Clarice Barrett was found parked in her car on a lonely dirt road in Southern Pines, North Carolina, around 8 pm on Sunday, April 8. By the time she was found by police, she had passed away. Police are not yet revealing the cause of death, but have revealed the case is a homicide.

Aiyonna was pregnant with a full-term baby, a little girl, due in early May, and was excited to welcome her little “jelly bean” into the world. Unfortunately, that was taken from her when their lives were taken by someone who cared not for them.

Police are investigating the crime as a double homicide, and are going to do everything they can to track down the murderer. They do not believe this to be a random act of violence and are going to be working on trying to solve this crime.

According to her mother, Aiyonna was set to graduate high school in June and had planned out what her next steps were. She had a job and a car and was going to be moving out and attending the local community college.

The Southern Pines Police Department is asking anyone with information to call (910) 692-7031 or (910) 693-4110. Any information will be kept confidential.

Please pray for Aiyonna’s friends and family as they come to terms to with this horrific loss of a young woman and her unborn child. This is one tragedy that will be felt by all who knew her for centuries.

This is a horrible story, and we know that sometimes we need a reminder of the good in the world at a time like this, so be sure to check out the video below!
