Police Officer Spots Something On The Side Of The Road Wrapped Around A Pole. When He Gets Closer He Is SHOCKED By What It Is

July 18, 2017

Police officer don't have the easiest job in the world. And typically a day in the life of an officer doesn't usually entail what an officer in Ecuador encounter one day on his route. A transit police officer was called out to investigate a tiny creature that had found itself in a scary situation on the side of a highway.

When he responded he wasn't sure what he was about to find, but when he got closer he realized this was one of the cutest calls he had ever been on.

Unable to cross the highway on to safe grounds on the other side. The tiny animal had been seen clinging to the guard rail. The officer arrived on scene and made his way to the scared animal. When he got closer he realized it was a sloth. The cute guy was to scared to continue his journey and had latched on tight to rail for deal life.

Did you know: It's a good thing sloths don't have to go to school. They'd never make it on time. These drowsy tree-dwellers sleep up to 20 hours a day! And even when they are awake, they barely move at all. In fact, they're so incredibly sluggish, algae actually grows on their fur. Sloths live in the tropical forests of Central and South America. With their long arms and shaggy fur, they resemble monkeys, but they are actually related to armadillos and anteaters. They can be 2 to 2.5 feet long and, depending on species, weigh from 8 to 17 pounds.

As for this sloth the officers heart went out to him and he wanted to do whatever he could to help the poor guy. The police rescued the sloth and took it to a vet to have it checked for potential injuries.

After a full examination they found it to be in perfect health and he was then cleared to return back to the wild far away from any car's or highways. It's safe to say that this rescue was memorable for the officer and all who were witnessed to the rescue of this sloth. We are glad he is safe and okay and back home.
