This time of the year, “Gratitude” is the name of the game. Life, however, can sometimes get in the way of keeping a grateful perspective. From bills to family concerns, to life in general, it can be hard to keep a clear and grateful mindset. I’m very fortunate to have an avenue for keeping grateful. One of my favorite things about my job is that I get the chance to search through the Internet every day to find uplifting and happy stories. With so much of “life” going on around me, the internet has turned into a happy and cheerful place for me. I love seeing pictures of cute pets, seeing incredible rescue stories happen, and family videos that remind me that life is best lived when lived in love.

Lately, I’ve found myself feeling the stress of the holiday season and it’s been difficult to keep a good attitude. Just when I start to feel a little overwhelmed, though, I always find a perfect video to cheer me up!

Recently, some parents of a little girl had noticed stress creeping into their lives and the lives of those they knew. They grew frustrated that so many people found so many things to complain about; they knew it was a toxic mindset and they refused to let it creep into their lives any longer. So, they turned to their daughter! After all, children always have the most beautiful perspectives, especially when considering “the little things.”

This little girl’s mom decided to wrap up a little something and see how her daughter would react to it, so, she wrapped up a little pink paperclip!

The little girl was grateful just to get a box, but when she opened it, she literally couldn’t believe her eyes! She gasped and her jaw dropped.

She was literally in awe! Then she said so sweetly, “Thank you, mama. I am going to play with this!”

Her reaction couldn’t have been sweeter. As soon as I watched it, I immediately felt grateful for all of the amazing things and people that I have in my life. It took something as small as a paperclip to make me realize it, but I am so happy I felt the spirit of gratitude. Remember, every day is a gift. Be thankful for even the smallest things in life, for a grateful spirit is the key to a joyful life!!
