If you’ve ever worked with children in any capacity, you know that they can be tricky to work with. Children tend to be unorganized and unpredictable, especially in when they’re expected to perform in some capacity.
On May 19th, 2018, when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married, they had a total of 10 children in their wedding! 10! Most people have two or three children, and just that can be difficult beyond imagination; can you imagine having 10?!
The 10 children played the parts of page boys and bridesmaids. Rather than having friends and family in their bridal party, Harry and Meghan let their most adored children play the special roles.
Amongst the group were Harry’s nephew and niece, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. And while the bride and groom had hoped that the kids would be well-behaved, the littlest royals were actually quite difficult to work with.
In fact, during the wedding rehearsal, the kids were so badly behaved that it was determined that they would return the Friday before the wedding for additional run-throughs and that they would not be unaccompanied by adults.
Upon arrival, all 10 page boys and bridesmaids were accompanied by moms. Kate Middleton and Jessica Mulroney, and Benita Litt were amongst the mums chosen to arrive with the kids. Together, they wrangled the children with and while they appeared collected and calm on the outside, they were desperately trying to wrangle the naughty children without appearing frustrated on camera.
Ultimately, the children walked down the aisle with little to no obvious problems. Which makes us wonder- what changed?
If you guessed bribery, you’re right! The kids were reportedly bribed with candy to make make it down the aisle on their best behavior! It looked like it does the trick because all of the kids were incredibly well behaved! What kid doesn’t like candy?!
