It’s safe to say that growing up in a royal family has its ups and downs. Much like any other family, things can be a little tricky from time to time, but inevitably it’s the struggles that bring the family closer together. One of the biggest challenges a family faces is learning how to adjust to a new member joining.
Life as you know it changes completely as a new life is welcomed. Though this is incredibly challenging, it’s a positive one as you all grow together and shift into new roles. Little ones become big siblings overnight, passing on the title of “baby” to a younger one.
Four-year-old Prince George excelled in his promotion to big brother when little Princess Charlotte came into the world. Charlotte, now two, is about to go through the same thing as she learns how to go from the baby of the family to the proud big sister. Will she be able to handle the adjustment as well as her big brother or will she struggle to release the title of “baby of the family”?
This will also be quite the adjustment for Mom and Dad as well. With two little ones, it’s relatively easy to tag-team and each take on a child. Adding a third to the mix will alter the plan tremendously. Out of all the family, Prince William seems to be a little more anxious about the change.
While attending a black-tie event at Kensington Palace, he briefly discussed his feelings on fatherhood and the impending birth. “Our third child is due in April. I’m getting as much sleep as I can,” he said. He also went on to say that having only two children is utterly exhausting enough. Now adding in an infant to the mix will only spice things up more.
“Two is fine - I don’t know how I’m going to cope with three. I’m going to be permanently tired,” he said. Spoken like a true, seasoned father if you ask me!
Despite the trials that come alongside an expanding family, there will be blessings galore. After the four adjust to their new life, they’ll quickly learn that the baby is the missing piece of the family puzzle they’ve needed all along.
Do you have any predictions about the royal baby? Boy or girl? What will his or her name be? When will he or she be born?
