On Monday, April 23, Duchess Kate gave birth to her third child, a bouncing baby boy. While the rest of the world has been focused on the newest little royal, 2-year-old Princess Charlotte has been making waves of her own!

Princess Charlotte has now made history as the first Princess to not lose her place in succession following the birth of a younger brother. Following tradition, this new little boy would have taken her place as Fourth in line to the throne!

However, thanks to the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013, male royals born on or after October 28, 2011, will no longer take precedence over their older sisters! While Charlotte isn’t the first royal to take advantage of this new rule, she is the first Princess to do so!

The others to enjoy the benefits of the new act include the Duke of Gloucester's two grandsons who now fall behind their older sisters. The passing of the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013, is one of the greatest acts that has been passed for women’s rights among the royals in quite a long time.

Princess Charlotte is sure to enjoy keeping her spot as fourth in line, once she’s old enough to truly understand what that means of course!

In other news, Prince William and Duchess Kate have now left the hospital with their littlest bundle of joy!
