One of the highlights of yesterdays joyous occasion - the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child, a son - was when William left the hospital briefly but returned with something that was definitely worth the wait.
He exited from his vehicle with two very delightful passengers in tow - son Prince George and daughter Princess Charlotte.
He was bringing them to see mummy Kate and their new baby brother. It was a heartwarming scene as the three, hand-in-hand, marched up to the front doors of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, where they entered shortly after their arrival.
The demeanors of the two mini royals were in sharp contrast to one another and onlookers couldn’t help but make note of the remarkable difference.
Older brother, George, kept his eyes down, staring at the pavement as he passed the throngs of people who had gathered to bear witness to the momentous occasion.
His mind was on the matter at hand and he had his sights set on the double doors that awaited him.
Sister Charlotte, on the other hand, had a much different approach to the whole situation.
She seemed utterly enthralled with the crowd that lined the way to the hospital entrance and, instead of looking down as her brother did, she made nonstop eye contact with the individuals who were shouting greetings to her and her male companions.
She began waving in the uniquely royal way, never stopping until she disappeared inside the doors of the Lindo Wing. She even looked over her should for a final wave as her father led her inside.
It was an absolutely adorable spectacle, and proof positive that this little one, the middle child of a very famous family, has got what it takes to take on the royal life.
She had her audience eating out of the palm of her hand as she charmed and delighted them from her very first step out of the car.
At not even three years off age, this petite princess definitely has her protocol and etiquette down pat, and she is sure to continue her charismatic ways as the years go by. We can hardly wait!
