On Monday, April 23rd, 2018, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child: a precious baby boy. The royal prince was born at St. Mary’s Lindo Wing where his siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were also born.

The Duchess delivered her second son at 11:01 a.m. and would rest in the privacy of the Lindo Wing before introducing the baby boy to the world. Only a mere seven hours after her delivery, she and William opened the doors of the Lindo Wing with their newest little one in their arms.

The crowds went wild when the Duke and Duchess appeared with the newborn prince! However, something managed to surprisingly steal the show…

Kate was wearing a red dress with a white collar. At first glance, one is immediately reminded of Princess Diana! The Duchess wore nearly the same exact ensemble as her late mother-in-law, Princess Di, after she gave birth to Prince Harry.

The sweet tribute to her late mother-in-law was undoubtedly intentional; William and Kate have made many precious tributes to Princess Diana, starting with Kate’s engagement ring. As many know, William proposed to his bride with his mother’s engagement ring.

But Princess Diana wasn’t the only family member being given an honorable mention during the baby’s debut! If you look closely, you’ll also see Kate’s subtle way of honoring Queen Elizabeth!

In her radiant introduction, Kate Middleton introduced her newest little one while wearing the reigning monarchs diamond and pearl drop earrings!

People reports that the earrings are “on loan” from the Queen. They are reported to be some of Kate’s favorites! She’s worn them to other events, but none as cherished as the debut of her third child.

The Queen was not at the royal prince’s debut physically, but she was there in spirit! The Duke and Duchess left the hospital only about 30 minutes after their son’s debut when they headed back to Kensington Palace. Surely, Her Majesty was able to spend some time with him there.
