Five short months before she is due to marry Jack Brooksbank, Princess Eugenie made a surprising announcement that many were not expecting to hear quite so soon. Her news is something that is more commonly heard closer to the wedding, or even after the wedding itself. Nonetheless, she did it and is not apologizing for it. In fact, she seems quite excited about it.
Word got out a few months ago that Princess Eugenie would be moving out of her flat at St. James Palace that she had shared with sister Princess Beatrice for many years This left big sis with nowhere to live and in need of new accommodations. But what we didn’t know at the time was what Eugenie’s plans were for her next residence.
Well, speculation came to an end when the bride-to-be shared the happy news that she and fiancé Jack Brooksbank will be moving into Kensington Palace and will be neighbors with not only the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but also Prince Harry and soon-to-be wife, Meghan Markle.
According to the Sun, “Last Monday, while the Duchess of Cambridge was having baby Louis, Eugenie, 28, and wine merchant Jack, 31, took over three-bedroom Ivy Cottage. Harry and Meghan are in the two-bed Nottingham Cottage." That makes Harry and Eugenie not only cousins, but also neighbors!
Seems like a match made in heaven, as the two couples have so much in common. Both are grandchildren of the Queen, Harry the second-born son of Prince Charles, and Eugenie the second-born daughter of Prince Andrew.
They are both getting married in this calendar year, and both are saying their “I dos” at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Seems they’ll have a lot of things to discuss, as well as notes to compare.
“Eugenie is so pleased,” claimed a source. “It’s the first time she and Jack have lived together. They wanted to move in earlier but there were arguments over who paid for renovations.”
Also at the palace are William, Kate, and family; the Dukes and Duchesses of Gloucester and Kent; plus Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.
It looks as though it’s going to be one big happy family but there’s no need to worry about stepping on anyone’s toes. The Palace is spacious enough to accommodate not only the six Royal couples and their families but many more if need be.
Each family has its own apartment which is nothing like any apartment you or I have ever inhabited. It’s more like an estate of its own within a palace.
