Princess Eugenie has found a way to make her name more popularized in the past few years. Up until recently, very few knew of the Queen’s 28-year-old granddaughter. She is the second daughter to Prince Andrew, Duke of York and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
Her mother, Sarah, had a reputation that proceeded her. All seemed like a royal fairytale when she and Andrew first wed. Their children came shortly after and they were the epitome of a happy, successful family.
As fate would have it, things took a turn for the worst when Sarah, aka “Fergie”, was caught doing the unthinkable and cheating on her beloved husband. The breaking of the news spread like wildfire and the media continually bashed Fergie from then on out. Her reputation, as she knew it was forever soiled.
Since that fateful event happened many years ago, much of the public has yet to forgive her. People have hoped that her daughters would not fall victim to the same behavioral patterns as she. No such news has been delivered thus far, so all is looking well for the bright, young princesses.
Recently, though, Eugenie was caught behaving in a startling similar manner to her mother, and many can’t help but speak up about it. Thankfully, their similarity is a rather positive one! Sarah Ferguson has been known to frequently dote on her ex-husband via Instagram.
She often accompanies him to numerous events and documents them by praising him publicly on her social media. The way she speaks of him makes many believe they are still very much in love. Eugenie recently took after her mother and chose to praise her father on social media as well.
Since doing so, many people can’t help but gush over the sweet bond the Prince has with his daughter. She chose a picture of him all dressed and ready for Trooping the Colour. She wrote: “A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. #troopingthecolour”
According to a royal family member’s Twitter account, this is the very first time the Duke has had the opportunity to fulfill the role as Colonel in this prestigious ceremony. “This year, @TheDukeOfYork rode for the first time at Trooping in his role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. HRH rode on a horse from the Royal Mews called Elizabeth.” They continued: “HRH @TheDukeOfYork took over as Colonel from his father, The Duke of Edinburgh, in December 2017.”
Per usual, Sarah also chose to shout out praises to her former love on Instagram. She captioned the photo: “Very proud of @hrhthedukeofyork Colonel of the Grenadier Guards #troopingthecolour #beatrice @princesseugenie @grenadier.guards”
This was certainly a momentous occasion for the entire family to see him fulfill such a role. It’s also a reminder of how tight-knit the royal family truly is. They continually stand by one another’s side through thick and thin.
